  • Advocacy is a key pillar of Winter Park Chamber of Commerce’s mission. We value and continually maintain our relationships with all governing bodies on behalf of our community’s and membership’s interests: locally, with the City of Winter Park and Orange County; statewide, with elected representatives of the Orange County legislative delegation serving in the State Senate and State House of Representatives; and on the federal level, with our elected members of Congress in the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives.

  • To assist us, the Chamber’s Government Affairs Committee was created to advocate on behalf of the Chamber’s mission, “to convene people and ideas for the benefit of our businesses and community.” Leaders from a variety of business sectors serve on the Government Affairs committee and convene once each month. Together they provide insight about the community’s political needs, help to form Chamber political initiatives and interact with elected leaders.

Recent Chamber endorsed projects in Winter Park include:

    • The Orange Avenue Overlay
    • Winter Park’s new Library and Events Center
    • The Henderson Hotel

    Government Affairs events include:

    • Art Is Good Business Tallahassee Drive-Up
    • Candidate Forum for City Commission Candidates
    • Legislative Update Breakfast
    • Political Mingle
    • Winter Park Outlook

Government Affairs also offers support for other Chamber activities including:

    • Winter Park Economic Recovery Task Force
