Winter Park Outlook is a regional-issues summit that explores factors that affect economic development. The discussion will focus on areas of potential impact for Winter Park.

  •

Outlook 2023 will offer an eye-opening look at one of the most pressing issues facing our region. We’ve assembled prominent panel of experts who will discuss how the local housing crisis affects us all and offer critical thinking on how to alleviate some of the burden.

We introduced our Winter Park Prosperity Scorecard, sponsored by Rollins College,  at Outlook 2021, and this year we’re exploring one of the metrics creating the biggest impact for Winter Park employers, first-time homebuyers, renters, builders, realtors, residents and commuters. A shortage of attainable housing leads to barriers for businesses to hire enough employees, suppresses entrepreneurship and economic prosperity, limits the number of young families and residents throughout our neighborhoods, increases emissions as more people are forced to commute longer distances, among other challenges.

Joining us will be Mark Brewer of the Central Florida Foundation; LaShanda Lovette of the Winter Park Housing Authority; Lee Steinhauer of the Greater Orlando Builders Association and the Apartment Association of Greater Orlando; and Austin Valle of Orlando YIMBY.
