    Job Description
    Hours:                  40 hours per week.  General work hours are 8:30 am -5:30 pm Monday-Friday with weekend and evening hours corresponding to the Bach Festival’s performance schedule.
    Salary:                  Negotiable
    Benefits:              Group health after 60 days’ employment.   Paid time off accrued beginning from date of hire.

    General Description:
    Under the direction of the Executive Director and in collaboration with the Artistic Director and staff, the successful candidate will develop and implement marketing/communication and patron engagement strategies to meet the earned income and fundraising goals of the Society.

    Skills required: 
    Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM database program—Salesforce/Patron Manager preferred—and have functional knowledge of website management, InDesign, Facebook, Instagram, and other creative/communication tools.  Must be detailed oriented, have excellent writing, customer service and time management skills along with an interest in and knowledge of classical music and the performing arts.

    Specific Tasks:
    Implement an approved Marketing Plan to meet earned income and patron engagement goals and manage advertising, direct mail, calendar listings, photo library, archives, public relations, website and social media activities.
    • Develop messaging for communication efforts in close collaboration with staff and Board
    • Regularly communicate marketing strategies and tactics with staff and revise plans as necessary to meet organizational goals.
      • Create a calendar of communication strategies and tactics--including advertising, direct mail, social media, website, email and more—to support organizational awareness, subscription growth, performance sales, annual fundraising campaigns, volunteer recruitment and more.
      • Coordinate the creation, sharing and storage of photography and videos to maximum benefit
      • Update BFS website to keep information and look current and correct
      • Manage social media campaigns, calendar listings, and search engine optimization.
      • Prepare reports on BFS website traffic, social media, advertising, email and direct mail marketing, etc.
      • Work with contract Graphic Designer to create and marketing materials and design templates
      • Work with contract Public Relations professional and media to gain press for Bach Festival Society performances and activities.
      • Update existing InDesign templates for specific direct mail marketing and posters
      • Oversee distribution of posters, brochures, rack cards, and other media materials to patrons and community partners

    Oversee the Box Office functions and Patron Manager Database
    • Propose subscription and single ticket prices for season planning
    • Create annual season of performances, fixed and flex subscription packages within Patron Manager CRM
    • Create target sales goals by performance for budgeting and tracking
    • Create and monitor subscription retention and acquisition campaigns
    • Field group sales inquiries and accommodate as venues allow
    • Support sales
    • Support recruitment for Bach Festival Choir and Bach Festival Youth Choir
    • Track attendance to ticketed performances
    • Ensure clean, correct, and up-to-date information in Patron Manager and document BFS practices in a user guide
    • Train volunteers and temporary staff on how to use Patron Manager to guarantee clean data, and identify new opportunities to use Patron Manager and share with staff
    • Export and prepare patron data for upload to TRG and update database with Change of Address information at least quarterly
    • With Development Staff, support patron engagement strategies within Patron Manager for tracking and reporting
    • Support all events, performances, and other activities of the BFS as required
