Kick Off the Holidays In Winter Park

Winter On The Avenue is from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on Dec. 1. Come out for our annual tree-lighting, strolling carolers, Chanukah menorah lighting ceremony, s'mores, snow slides, the announcement of holiday art contest winners, children's choirs, The Bubble Bus, Popcorn Flicks in the park, and, of course, Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Begin the evening at the Annual Holiday Tree Lighting in Central Park just east of the Winter Park train station. Winners of the Holiday Art Competition will be recognized, Rabbi Dovid Dubov of Chabad Orlando will do a menorah lighting ceremony ushering in the season of Chanukah, and Winter Park Mayor Sheila DeCiccio will lead us in a countdown as we light the Christmas Tree.

Diners and shoppers along Park Avenue will enjoy strolling Christmas carolers, the Belles & Bows from Central Florida Vocal Arts ,making their way along Park Avenue which will become a pedestrian plaza for a festive street party. The Bubble Bus will be parked along the avenue, pumping out thousands of glowing bubbles that will delight and enthrall kids and adults alike. Stilt Walking elves will be making their way up and down Park Avenue and available for meet and greets and photo ops throughout the night.

A special guest from the North Pole will arrive at 6:30 p.m., thanks to the Winter Park Fire-Rescue Department. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available for visits and photos until 8:00 p.m.

We’re excited to announce that The Winter Park Chamber of Commerce will be sponsoring the Annual Holiday Art Competition in downtown Winter Park again this year.

The Holiday Art Competition winners will be announced Friday, Dec. 1, just prior to the lighting of the Christmas Tree. Winners will also receive their gift certificates at that time.
