Staff budget presentations will begin Wednesday, July 8. The review and approval process ends Sept. 23.
Advisory Board Appointments- The Commission acknowledged and accepted all nominations. View Commission Appointments
- Appointments to the Police Officers and Firefighters Pension Boards were also finalized.
- Sheila DeCiccio will represent the Commission on the Winter Park Library Board of Trustees.
- Board service of two years is one full term; less than 2 years is considered a partial term.
- The Commission approved in its first ready an ordinance on micro-vehicles which are “not powered by humans.”
- Its boundaries include the Central Business District and Hannibal Square Neighborhood Commercial District.
- The ordinance will be reviewed by the City’s Transportation Advisory Board before its second reading.
- The Commission approved the second reading of ordinances granting FDOT a city-owned 20’ x 250’ parcel.
- FDOT will widen the westbound turn lane serving the intersection of Fairbanks and Orlando Avenues
- Work sessions will be held weekly to study the OAO, beginning this week (June 25 at 1 p.m).
- The scope of work (data analysis) proposed by GAI Consultants was revisited and approved.
- How the City chooses to meet GAI’s suggested goals with be studied by Planning Department Staff.
- The Commission denied requests for work sessions from developers of the Henderson Hotel and the Hotel on Pennsylvania.
- The Commission will hear the first reading of the proposed moratorium on development at their July 8 meeting.
- The East Central Florida Regional Planning Council presented their regional resilience collaborative efforts (public, private and academic) for future and comprehensive sustainability.
- Public support for investigating systemic racism is an issue the Commission seeks to pursue and clarify. The City will issue a statement supporting diversity and opposing systemic racism.
