    Be Prepared for the 2018 Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday


    The 2018 Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday was passed by the Florida Legislature and signed into law by Governor Rick Scott. This sales tax holiday will take place from Friday, June 1, through Thursday, June 7. During this time, you can stock up on qualifying disaster preparedness items exempt from tax. This sales tax holiday does not apply to the rental or repair of any qualifying items. Additionally, it does not apply to sales in a theme park, entertainment complex, public lodging establishment or airport. As Central Floridians, we are well-acquainted with the possibility of dealing with tropical storms and hurricanes, so be sure to take advantage of this opportunity to stock up on qualifying items!
