Get Ready to Mingle… and Vote!

2016 Winter Park Political Mingle

IMG_4693Just as the summer sun is causing the mercury to rise, fall’s hottest political races are also heating up. While national politics are constantly in the headlines, it is the local and statewide races that are sure to have the most impact on our daily lives. From education to public safety and transportation to real estate, it is important that our community speaks up on issues that are important to the well-being of the area.

The Winter Park Chamber of Commerce is proud to bring the business community and candidates running for elected office together for an evening of grassroots politics this month. The 2016 Winter Park Political Mingle and Straw Poll presented by Charter Spectrum will be held on Tuesday, July 19, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Rachel D. Murrah Civic Center.

The evening is filled with casual conversations with candidates, mingling with fellow business and community leaders, live entertainment, food and drinks. The highlight of the event is always the straw poll results. Operated by the Orange County Supervisor of Elections office, the informal poll takes the political pulse of attendees on a variety of ballot issues and races that directly affect the Winter Park community.

Candidates from a variety of local, state and federal offices will be in attendance. See list of confirmed participants here.

Tickets are $25 each or $225 for a 10-ticket package in advance and $30 each at the door. Each ticket includes dinner, drinks and a vote in the straw poll.  In addition to mingling with candidates for office, the event will provide great networking with community and business leaders.  Central Florida Community Arts will also provide live entertainment throughout the event.

Special thanks to our event sponsors, including presenting sponsor Charter Spectrum, and supporting sponsors, Orlando Health and University of Central Florida. In-kind support provided by Wayne Densch, Inc. and Winter Park/Maitland Observer.
